Jan 8, 2018 路 Low temp problem. first off, I have a 2007 Ford Focus with a 2.0L Duratec and 5 speed manual tranny. I recently changed the temp sensor when the CEL gave me a trouble code for it (I think it was P0128). The temp gauge always held steady at dead center once the motor warmed up, but lately the motor ran rough and the gas mileage was bad.

mcclure407 @mcclure407. Rep: 1. Posted: Oct 31, 2018. Options. Pull out the back seat to expose fuel pump take off cover. You will find wire/plug it will probably be corroded and there will probably be moisture in there. Clean it out, put dielectric grease in there & problem solved.

Mechanically, it is a manual transmission with 2 clutches and servos, and other electronics used to handle the clutches and shifting such that it acts like a classic automatic transmission. In the Mondeo, it is in the head - this is so the ECU monitors the actual head temprature for the correct fuel- air mixture, it also means if the coolant runs dry it will protect the engine from overheating. so there is not actually a coolant temp sensor - but a head temp sensor. Most modern Fords are the same. Jan 24, 2013 路 The Focus DCT transmission doesn't have a temperature sensor, instead, it uses a "virtual sensor", an algorithm that monitors electrical energy to each of the 2 clutch actuators, vehicle speed, engine rpm, ambient temperature, etc. The virtual sensor monitors how you are driving and how the clutches are being used.
